Sustainable development is an every nation desire, but only few of
these know how to rich it and an even smaller number have concrete measures
in this direction. Sustainable development involve changes, especially
regarding the consumers and producers mentalities and an appropriate management
in time. Which are the changing necessary instruments? Could the change
be based only on the legislation development and a strict implementation?
Is there a possibility in implementing this legislation by the existing
structures?
These are just few questions to think about. The National Environmental
Forum is an opportunity to develop a constructive dialogue on environmental
related problems and a meeting point for all local and central authorities
representatives, Romanian and international business sector, non-governmental
organizations and professional associations.
There are a lot of years from the first edition of this event, and
today we have the 6th Edition. Initiated as a practical promoting instrument
for co-operation on the environment related issues of all the society
structures, today the National Environment Forum is trying to tackle
the most important Romanian problems in this field: waste management,
including the hazardous waste, water resources protection, air protection.
But, the most important thing is that “FORM 99” is trying
to help our country on its way to European Union, on the environment
protection field, to open the communications means between local financers,
European Commission, international financing institutions and the Member
States as potential individuals donors.
After four days of conferences, workshops and presentations on the
most important problems in the field, from the air pollution to the
nature protection, from hazardous waste management to the energy conservation,
a real success of this event is the real integration of the environmental
protection problem into the work agenda of those who lead today the
reform in Romania.
