ECOLINKS: Environmental Partnership Programme

ECOLINKS is financed through USAID. USAID contracted the Institute
for International Education (IIE) to implement the program within the
regions. In his turn IIE subcontracted The Regional and Environmental
Center (REC) for the implementation of the program in Central and Eastern
Europe countries.
USAID is a governmental agency granting economic and humanitary assistance,
supporting the transition process towards market economy. Their web

IIE is an organization running over 240 training and research programs
including over 18.000 participants each year (such as Fulbright). IIE
has 5 regional offices and 6 international offices. Their web address

REC is and independent nonprofit non-advocacy international organization
established in 1990 with the support of USA, EU and Hungary; REC has
local offices in 15 countries. Their web page is http://www.rec.org
The management structure of Ecolinks comprises the Chief of Party,
three Regional Program Managers (US, CEE and NIS) and 7 Country Program
Officers.
