The company is situated in the East of Romania, in the region of Moldavia, at about 5 km from the city of Onesti and in the vicinity of the European road E 577. Eestablished in 1956 when the first installations of Refinery 1 were commissioned to process the sulfur-free crude oil available in the country. In the period 1979-1980, the Refinery 2 was commissioned to process imported sulfurous crude oil. From 1991 to July 1997, it was associated to the RAFIROM holding, then to the Romanian Oil Company. Since July 1997 it has been an independent economic agent. Registred capital: 120 mil USD. Present number of employees: 2642.
