THE FIRST STAGE OF MODERNISATION

The following installations were modernized: atmospheric and vacuum
distillation, catalytic reformation, viscosity reduction, petrol hydrofining,
electric desalinization;
-
Modern catalysts were purchased;
-
Specific treatments were applied for the process and water (raw,
recirculated, boiler and waste water);
-
New equipment was purchased.
The cost of investments made until 1998 was of ~35 million USD, from
which 20 million USD for the environment protection; the funding was
provided by the company own sources.
The main effects of the accomplished modernization were:
1. The increase of yields in white petroleum products by ~11,5 %;
2. The reduction of processing costs in the refinery
by ~ 2 USD / ton of crude oil.
3. The reduction of technological consumptions and specific consumptions
of energy and utilities:
The thermic energy consume … with 45 %

The combustional gases consume with 56 %

The electric energy consume with 24 %

The methane gas consume
